Transparency
This page gives an honest look at how we approach coffee sourcing, giveback, and environmental impact. We encourage you to check out our full 2025 transparency report.
IMPACT & TRANSPARENCY
We started YIELD to prove that buying coffee could be an act of good. A decade in, it still is.
Over $40,000 donated to grassroots organizations. Six sustainable projects completed in the communities behind your coffee. Honestly, we are just getting started.
$4.95 average per pound paid to producers in 2025
$40,000+ donated to date
10%+ of profits back to community, every year
70+ wholesale partners
SOURCING
Sourced relationally, from farm to cup.
We source across a spectrum, from direct relationships with individual producers to cooperative lots and longtime importer partners, all held to the same standard of quality, traceability, and care. In 2025 that meant coffee from across 9 countries, some relationships going on five years or more. When you choose YIELD, you are part of a supply chain built with intention.
We prioritize repeatability over novelty. Farmers can plan. We can plan. Our partners can plan. Consistency may not generate headlines, but it builds durable supply chains.
Every coffee we source is traceable to the farm, cooperative, or producer group behind it. The full purchase table, with producer names, prices paid, and relationship length, is in the Annual Transparency Report.

WHAT WE PAY
Real impact starts at the source.
In 2025, our weighted average FOB price paid was $4.95 per pound. The global commodity market averaged $2.75. That gap represents roughly $146,000 that flowed upstream to producers rather than staying in the supply chain below them.
We publish this number every year because clarity builds trust. FOB, Free on Board, is the price paid for coffee at origin before it leaves the producing country. It is the most honest benchmark for understanding how a roaster values the people who grow their coffee.
Higher prices alone do not guarantee sustainability. But pricing that ignores cost of production almost always guarantees instability. We choose the former, every year.
COMMUNITY
This is what your purchase did in 2025.
At least 10% of YIELD's profits go back to community every single year. Not when things are going well. Every year. In 2025 that meant $8,500 invested in people we know by name.
Casa del Puma, Ecuador
15 families. 1,500 chickens. One Forest School.
Casa del Puma is an indigenous Kichwa community in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Their coffee grows the way it always has, woven into the forest alongside timber, fruit trees, and medicinal plants. In 2025, your purchase helped fund organic fertilizer training for 15 families, 1,500 chickens whose manure now feeds their farms, 300 new coffee plants per family, and a Forest School so the next generation can stay and build something rather than leave. The goal was not expansion. It was resilience.
OHIO
Community-based projects across Cincinnati, Dayton, and the surrounding region, the places we call home.
ORIGIN
Long-term development in coffee-growing countries, through trusted partners who strengthen and empower local community members.
ENVIRONMENT
Honest about our footprint.
Our estimated operational footprint is approximately 34 metric tons of CO2e per year. We measure it, reduce what we can, and are committed to doing better in the future.
BAG UPCYCLING
Return your bag. Close the loop.
Coffee bags are notoriously difficult to recycle. Ours are no exception. So we made it easy to bring them back. Drop your empty YIELD bag at any participating wholesale partner location and we handle the rest. One small act that adds up across thousands of customers.
FIND A DROP-OFF
Bring your empty, clean bag to a participating partner near you. Check out the map for partners tagged "Bag Upcycling Drop-Off".

FOR WHOLESALE PARTNERS
Your guests deserve to know where their coffee comes from.
Every coffee shop, restaurant, and hospitality team that serves YIELD is making a choice. A choice to put something intentional in front of their guests. Something that connects a cup, wherever it is served, to a farm in Honduras, a cooperative in Rwanda, a family in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
We want you to have the language, the numbers, and the story to share with the people you serve. That is part of why this page exists, and why we publish the Annual Transparency Report every year regardless of what the market is doing.
