YIELD Coffee is a humanitarian coffee roasting company dedicated to relational coffee and long-term sustainability. We collaborate closely with coffee farmers who share our commitment to sustainability, exceptional quality, and long-term relationships. We transport beautiful coffees to Cincinnati, roast them fresh every week, and deliver or ship to our wholesale partners and coffee lovers around the US.

We started out with a love for people and a love for coffee. We wanted a tangible way to connect people with coffee that has life-changing potential. Through YIELD, we’re investing in the lives and futures of many people around the world.
Sourcing Philosophy:
The traditional route of sourcing coffee has a history of abuse, improper use of power, and extortion at the farm level. The way we source coffee is with full transparency, direct-trade, and through relationships with the farmers, cooperatives, communities, and importers we work alongside of. Our simple yet thorough requirements are that the coffee has to be specialty grade (scoring 80+ on the SCA standard scale), it has to be ridiculously delicious, and it has to make a positive impact while returning dignity and wellbeing to coffee farmers and their communities.

We’ve been involved in rehab programs for woman transitioning from back into society from human trafficking, building life-saving modern bathrooms, supplying medical clinics with necessities, and to funding the purchases of bicycles for students to continue their studies into high school, all of this and more because people like you have chosen to drink relational coffee that matters.
Roasting Philosophy:
Our roasting philosophy is to bring the best intrinsic traits out of the green coffee beans we ethically and traceably source. We believe the ultimate quality development happens at the farm level. We do everything we can to let the coffees shine in order to reflect the extraordinarily hard-working farmers and communities we work alongside of. Most of our coffees are roasted to just after 1st crack with a complete roast cycle of 11-13 minutes, ending between light to medium roast levels.
Building upon the dedicated work of the coffee farmers we partner with; we consider roasting to be a skillful science and an artful expression. Our approach to roast development ensures that the end product is perfectly developed. Through continued analysis and the honing of roast profiles, we aim to deliver a vibrant expression of the inherent characteristics of each coffee at its maximum potential.
We utilize a combination of exceptional roasting skills, thorough roast protocols, intelligent roasting software and our beautiful 6kg Mill City Roaster and a precise quality control program to ensure each batch is as tasty as the last. We are always improving, learning, and searching for perfection in our practices of roasting. Good enough is never good enough for us.
