Cupping Notes: Tropical Fruits, Jasmine Florals, Creamy Body
Doña Romelia Sánchez Gómez purchased her farm in 2006. Under Romelia's keen eye the coffee plants have flourished and productivity has increased. She is precise and detail oriented, with a care for the condition of her family, her workers, the coffee plants, and soil.
Over time, she's planning to expand the farm, buying new land as well as introducing new management techniques to improve the cultivation of her coffee. The farm is shaded by Chalum and Gravilea trees, with rolling cloud cover cooling the Santa Barbara area throughout the day. Doña Romelia’s farm also produces juicy peaches and tasty avocados.
Yield Coffee’s 1st Woman Produced Coffee.
As we continue to grow and learn, we’ve become increasingly aware of the disparities along the supply chain and we’ve stayed true to our commitment to contributing to positive change wherever and however we can. By sourcing coffees grown by women producers like Doña Romelia, we seek to financially empower them within their families, communities, and within the industry. We hope to make positive strides toward increasing women’s visibility within the supply chain, as well as to assist in protecting the sustainability of their very contributions as we offer this coffee and many more like it in the years to come.
