YIELD has been working alongside of Shady and Elias Bayter in Colombia for over 3 years! We love the collaboration and experimentation coming from these two brothers. We connect via google hangouts multiple times a year to plan our green coffee purchases, receive updates, and see all the progress happening in and around their coffee farm. We will be visiting the El Vergel farm in May 2022!

By implementing updated technologies, they are able compost organic material from the processing of coffee that would otherwise go to waste. In addition, water conservation efforts have reduced overall water consumption on the farm by at least 40%!

Elias & Shady started to work with experimental coffee in a way that they could create and pass through the technology that would help to improve the quality of life of the families that work together with them..

El Vergel is located in the beautiful Department of Tolima, spanning across the mountains in Colombia. Colombia boasts 11 different altitudes, each containing a unique flavor palate, that is unrivaled anywhere else in the world. It's on an inactive volcano that has created some of the most nutrient rich soil for planting.

Each and every green coffee is single-origin, hand-picked, and carefully inspected by one of their tenured pickers. They go through great lengths to only produce the finest yields for us to roast.

This series of specialty coffee contains a wide variety of coffees produced all around Colombian coffee regions by the members of The Colombian Coffee Club, which is helping them through processing techniques, quality control systems, and a higher income for their hard work. We're paying a premium of $1 per pound more to ensure the families are well taken care of and provided for in meaningful ways.

This coffee is processed with the traditional washed process, with the fermentation of 12 to 24 hours in mucilage, dried in the sun on patios for 10 to 15 days.

This is a best in class roaster with a true passion & payback mission

All the Yield roasts I've tried so far have been memorable. The days old roast freshness of the products provided yields ample timeframes to try various brew methods and grind settings during peak freshness. You'll taste their passion for excellence in every sip.

Taste makes a big difference

The least bitter taste I’ve ever experienced. The whole family loves every worth every penny.worth it. Thank you for making it available to the general public. When you figure the cost of drinking at a coffee house this is worth every penny.

Deliciously fruity

I'm not a coffee lover, but immediately became obsessed with Colombia - Huila after participating in a team building event at work on the pour over method. It made me rethink my ideas about coffee, and about trying different roasts and flavors.
